EnergyBet is a traditional fixed odds online bookmaker that was launched in 2016. There is anecdotal evidence of a number of flaws. However, the operator is licensed and regulated by the UK Gambling Commission (UKGC) and Malta Gaming Authority. These regulatory bodies are trusted so we can assume EnergyBet meet standards of compliance and deal with customers in a fair way. The bookmaker is operated by Probe Investments Limited who have been given a Remote Operating Licence by the UKGC. The core product is sports betting but the website also features virtual sports, a casino and live casino. The service is available on desktop computers and mobile devices.

New customers with EnergyBet can enjoy a BET £10 GET £10 sign up offer.

The Black Type welcome offer is rare in that it combines a sportsbook and casino free bet. The value of the free bet is modest and no other bookmaker offers a smaller amount as part of a welcome offer. The terms are achievable and the rules are transparent. However, compared to similar offers the free bet value does not provide a great incentive to open a new account and make a deposit.

Ongoing promotions for current players complement The EnergyBet welcome bonus for new customers. At the time of writing existing customers can benefit from the following promotions:

All players with EnergyBet are credited with a bonus for winning accumulators. The bonuses apply for the following multiple bets:

  1. 2 selections: 3% bonus.
  2. 3 selections: 5% bonus.
  3. 4 selections: 10% bonus.
  4. 5 selections: 15% bonus.
  5. 6 selections: 25% bonus.
  6. 7 selections: 30% bonus
  7. 8 selections: 40% bonus.
  8. 9 selections: 50% bonus.
  9. 10 selections: 60% bonus.
  10. 11 selections: 70% bonus.
  11. 12 selections: 80% bonus.
  12. 13 selections: 90% bonus.
  13. 14+ selections: 100% bonus.

This is a weekly promotion and any bonus is credited on the Tuesday after the qualifying week. The minimum stake is £10 and the accumulator must be placed at odds of 3/10 (1.30) or bigger. Virtual sports do not qualify for this promotion.

Customers with EnergyBet who have one losing selection in a football accumulator with four legs or more will have the stake refunded in the form of bonus funds. The minimum odds for each selection are 1/5 (1.2) and the minimum stake is £10. Pre-match and in-play accumulators count and the maximum refund is £20. The bonus must be wagered 5 times before a customer can transfer the bonus funds. The bonus is credited on the Monday after the qualifying week and any bonus funds expire after 30 days. Any bets placed using bonus funds and not on a football market do not qualify for the losing accumulator refund.

Other UK-facing operators offer a more extensive range of promotions for existing customers. However, the two current ongoing offers with EnergyBet are transparent and achievable, even though the wagering and odds requirements are quite restrictive. The overall package of promotions is a good incentive to open an account with EnergyBet, make an initial deposit to activate the welcome bonus and place bets. There is also a VIP program for invited members that provides additional bonuses and promotions based on turnover across the product range.

When EnergyBet was launched for desktop computers in 2016 the design had mobile users in mind. The EnergyBet app is fully functional and can be navigated efficiently. EnergyBet does not offer any mobile-specific promotions. However, mobile users can claim the 100% match deposit welcome bonus for up to £50 and enjoy the benefits of Energy Boost and the Weekly Accumulator offer. The website is optimised for mobile devices which compensates for the lack of dedicated apps. The transition from the website to mobile app is easy because of the original mobile-friendly design.

Even though iTunes carries betting apps, EnergyBet have currently not launched a dedicated app for iOS devices. The desktop version has been mobile-optimised so users of the iPhone and similar devices can access the site using iOS phones and tablets. If you are looking for bookmakers with dedicated iOS apps, check out our iPhone betting apps page.

EnergyBet android app is not available on Google Play but you can still download it directly form the operator’s website.

Mobile users have access to the following betting services with EnergyBet:

‘Live Betting’ is the second option on the main menu on the EnergyBet Home Page. The live betting events appear in a conference view and by sport and there is a Live Calendar. When the review was completed there were active live events for football, tennis and several other sports. There is no live streaming but there is an animation of the action. Customers have access to detailed pre-match and live statistics. The range of live markets includes the match results, handicaps and totals and correct score betting. Live betting is suspended after a key event or when there is a delay in the match. The EnergyBet live betting interface works well and features cash out betting which is described below.

Mobile and desktop customers with EnergyBet can cash out bets before they close. The facility can be used for single pre-match and live bets during a live event. The option is also available for coupon accumulators. If early legs have won the remainder of the bet can be cashed out before the start of later events. Cash out betting is available for a selection of sports and markets and there is no minimum stake. The cash out value depends on the original bet and stake and the odds at the time of the cash out request. Customers cannot cash out bets when live betting has been suspended as there could be a significant change in the odds.

EnergyBet mobile users have access to the Match Tracker feature. There is a visual window that provides scores updates and live statistics for events across a wide range of betting sports. The facility tracks a number of live events at the same time. The Match Tracker facility allows customers to be updated with the scoring and betting for their live bet events.

Energybet allows customers to place accumulators for all betting sports. Multiple bets can have from 4 to 20 selections, at which point the maximum winnings limit from one bet will probably have been reached. Accas can be cashed out if there are open bets on the coupon and no losers. Energy boost and the weekly Accumulator Offer enhance acca betting with EnergyBet.

‘Sports’ is the first option on the main menu on the EnergyBet Home Page. The sports betting options are displayed in two menus: Popular Competitions and All Sports. Customers with Energybet can bet on about 20 sports which is a relatively small total. The default odds format is decimal but this can be changed to fractional. The range of sports is designed for the European market. There is no betting on horse racing which is popular for betting in the UK. At the time of writing there were about 2000 active events of which more than 800 were related to football. Here is information about football and the other most bet on sports.

Bookmaker payment methods

EnergyBet provides a safe and secure betting environment for their customers. Personal data is encrypted and betting funds are safe. Licences with the Malta and UK regulatory bodies suggest this operator can be trusted to act in a fair way. There is evidence of payment issues but these are unsubstantiated. EnergyBet is a member of the Independent Bookmakers Arbitration Service (IBAS) in the UK which settles disputes between the bookmaker and their customers. The company has also signed up with GamStop which promotes safe and responsible betting in the UK.

The sports betting product at EnergyBet was added to the casino in 2016. The site is operated from Malta where there are many betting companies and affiliated services. The gaming products can be accessed on desktop computers and mobile devices. EnergyBet is a relatively new operator and is competing with established brands in the UK. The odds are competitive but the number of betting sports is limited. The lack of live streaming is a negative but that could be added in the fullness of time. Mobile customers can select from many live betting events which feature cash out.

Customers can contact EnergyBet using the following methods:

The department is open from 09:00 to 00:00 CET during the week and from 13:00 to 21:00 CET at the weekend.

EnergyBet has become established as a good destination for desktop and mobile sports betting since the service was launched in 2016. There have been complaints about withholding payments and closing down cash out betting. However, this review discovered a fully functional website and mobile site. The website is easy to use and is optimised for mobile betting. Customers could have reservations about payments but the evidence suggests that EnergyBet operates in the correct way. EnergyBet provides new and existing customers with a positive betting experience.
