Within the gambling industry, some betting companies choose to put all their eggs into one basket, focusing exclusively on one brand and app. Others choose to spread their attention across multiple betting sites. ProgressPlay are definitely an example of the latter, and have expanded very aggressively indeed over the past couple of years.
Betreels is one of their latest products, with this mobile betting site only being launched in 2020. In our comprehensive Betreels review, we’ll tell you everything you need to know about this young brand, including their special offers, betting markets, features, and a whole lot more besides.
In an effort to drive new customers through their digital doors, Betreels have put a welcome offer in place. At first, this seems pretty straightforward, being advertised as a simple ‘Bet £10 and Get a £10 Free Bet’ deal. Dig a little deeper though, and you’ll find that there’s actually a catch here.
On that note, here are the main T&Cs for the Betreels sign up offer:
Betting £10 to get a £10 free bet seems like fair value on the surface. That value quickly disintegrates, however, when you realise that you actually need to bet through that £10 bonus 10 times before you can withdraw it. On top of that, you’re only given 7 days in which to satisfy this already-tough requirement.
Overall, the stakes are fairly low here, as you still only need to wager £10 of your money. The chances of you actually hitting the £20 maximum bonus return, though, are very slim indeed.

For most of their brands to date, if not all, ProgressPlay have completely ignored standalone mobile betting apps. It’s the same story with Betreels, with no iOS or Android app available to download.
That might sound like a bad thing. The mobile version of the main site, though – on which you’ll be entirely reliant as an on-the-go bettor – is actually very good indeed. Visually it is clean and modern, with a cool, black-and-grey colour scheme, and all the betting odds and text are clear too. The performance levels were also very good throughout our testing, with pages loading quickly and smoothly, and no crashes spoiling our experience. While we’d prefer to see an actual app in place, therefore, this is still a fine substitute.
In addition to their sportsbook, Betreels also provide a fully-featured casino section. Again, there’s no actual mobile app in place for this, so you’ll be using the mobile website instead. Once more, that’s not actually much of a problem.
This is also laid-out intuitively, and performs well. It features all the same games, slots, and so on as the main site, and you get access to all the same special offers too.
Betreels isn’t perfect, by any means, and we’ll cover its handful of deficiencies later in this review. For now though, let’s focus on the positives. These are some of the areas in which Betreels impresses most strongly.
Rather than trying to create anything revolutionary, ProgressPlay have instead clearly focused on making the most user-friendly platform possible with Betreels. We’re pleased to say that they’ve done very well indeed here.
The Betreels mobile site is extremely easy to navigate from the first time you boot it up. A dropdown menu in the top-left lets you reach several of the most important areas, including the customer support section. The main bulk of the interface is taken up by the betting markets, which are housed in a series of dropdown menus, and browsing a matchup’s individual matchups on your device is equally easy.
In short, this is an extremely intuitive mobile platform, which betting veterans and newcomers will find equally easy to use.
Outstanding Sports Coverage
We’ll explore some of the most popular markets Betreels offers in detail later in this review. For now though, let’s just take a general overview of your options.
They number way over 30 here, which qualifies as a wide selection in anyone’s book. Both of the biggest markets are included – football and horse racing – and these are backed up by tennis, golf, cricket, rugby, eSports, and a whole lot more besides. In total, this all adds up to over 2,000 pre-match markets being available at any given time – a huge total, which can compete with that on much larger, more famous betting sites. Add in another 100-200 live betting opportunities, and you’ll see that the coverage here is absolutely fantastic.
Good Variety of Payment Methods
This is another area we’ll dive into in more detail shortly. Once again though, Betreels offers a very impressive amount of choice here.
Even in the modern-day, some brands limit you to a mere one or two options, but Betreels provide more than 10. There should be something for everyone within this selection, with everything from old-school methods (like bank transfer) to eWallets, and even cryptocurrencies (for certain users) being included here. Deposits are also processed quickly, and the minimum amounts are fair.
Plenty of Bet Types
We’ve already mentioned how impressed we were with the breadth of betting markets available. This positive impression also applied to the depth of Betreels selection too, though.
Dive into any major sport, and you’ll find an excellent variety of bet types in place. A single Premier League matchup, for example, can provide a frankly ridiculous 500+ individual betting opportunities. These include everything from the most basic bet types – like Match Result and Both Teams to Score – through to player props, team props, and specials.
It’s generally the same story for other major sports. Betreels provide a good blend of pre-match, in-play, and outright markets for most of these, allowing you to really find your own mixture of risk and reward.
Solid Customer Service
ProgressPlay might come up short in certain areas, but they do tend to provide very good customer service for their users. We’re happy to report that it’s the same story with Betreels.
As touched upon earlier, you can access the support section on the mobile betting site with only a couple of taps of your screen. This is a far cry from other brands, which seem almost to be trying to hide their support options from punters. Both live chat and email support are readily available here, with good coverage hours, and there’s also a ‘Support Center’ area in place to help with your less pressing enquiries.
You wouldn’t necessarily expect a young brand like Betreels to compete with the biggest names around – like Bet365 and William Hill – when it comes to special features. That holds true here, but the cupboard certainly isn’t bare by any means. Below, you can find out about some of the more useful tools which Betreels puts at your disposal.
Like most modern sportsbooks, Betreels have embraced in-play in a big way. It definitely makes sense for this to be a priority, as – for many punters – the thrill of live gambling has replaced the more measured pre-match variety as their preferred method.
Betreels split their live games off cleanly from their pre-match ones, allowing you to browse them very easily indeed. Although there is naturally some drop-off in bet type variety compared to what’s on offer pre-match, you still have a whole lot of choice here. The odds for these update with pleasing regularity, with clean ‘up’ and ‘down’ arrows showing whether prices are rising or falling. The live betting tool itself is also highly-responsive, allowing you to quickly pounce on any price you like the look of.
As you’d expect, Betreels have paired their in-play betting tool with one which allows you to cash out live wagers. Not all bet types are compatible with this, but Betreels clearly mark those which are by putting a green dollar sign next to them.
Functionally, the cash out tool is just as impressive as the in-play one. Most importantly, it is also very responsive, so you can lock in a good price when you do decide to bail on a bet. The frequency of ‘greyed-out’ markets is also kept pretty low, so – when you’ve got a live bet going – you will be able to cash it out most of the time.
At the time of writing, we could not find any live streaming options at all available on Betreels. Obviously we’d prefer if this wasn’t the case, but – given that this is generally a feature reserved for the biggest brands – it’s hardly surprising.
As a replacement for this, Betreels provide you with a visualisation tool which is very good indeed. It’s clean and clear, updates constantly, and generally does a great job of keeping you up-to-date with the latest goings-on. Backing this up, there’s a good selection of live statistics too, which are also regularly updated. Add all this together, and you do get a very good feel for ongoing games, which should help to inform your in-play picks.
We’re big fans of any VIP programs or rewards schemes which genuinely reward punters for their ongoing loyalty. In Betreels’ Rewards Program, that’s exactly what we find.
As soon as you sign up with Betreels, you’re automatically entered into the scheme. After that, your betting activity will help to consistently build your profile, and earn you bigger and better rewards. There are quite a few ways to do this, including competing in the ‘leaderboard’ competitions, and simply betting on certain, specified events. The rewards are equally varied, ranging from free bets and cashback deals, to deposit bonuses and straight-up cash prizes.
Accumulators aren’t necessarily the ‘smartest’ bet types out there, but they’re arguably one of the most fun, and definitely one of the most lucrative. Betreels makes it especially easy to craft these wagers on their mobile site, whether they’re same-game or spread across multiple matchups.
Browse the list of markets for any given football match, and – for many bet types – you’ll see a small ‘link’ icon with the number 1 next to it. This instantly shows you that that specific bet type can be thrown into a multiples wager. This saves you the guesswork of adding and removing selections to find out if they’re eligible for an acca, which you must still do on many modern-day sites. Chucking in and getting rid of subsequent picks for your accumulator is very easy to do, with the odds updating immediately as you do so.
The market selection on the Betreels mobile site really is incredibly impressive. As noted earlier, there are well over 30 different options here. Within these dozens of choices, you’ll find all the big hitters represented, alongside other classic British sports, American leagues, and some more niche markets. The range of bet types is generally impressive too, and – while your choices for outright wagers can be limited – those for pre-match and in-play bets certainly aren’t.
Let’s take a close look at some of Betreels’ biggest markets, before taking a more general overview of your other available options.
For online British punters, football is the biggest betting market by far. It’s no different when it comes to mobile users, and we’re pleased to say that Betreels steps up to the plate in a big way here. There were over 800 matches available to wager on pre-match at the time of writing, representing literally thousands of individual betting opportunities.
Everything from the English Premier League to the Costa Rican Primera Division are represented, as are the biggest international and continental tournaments. There’s plenty of variety in the bet types you can use too, ranging from 1/X/2 and Over/Under Goals, through to handicaps and pre-made combos. As noted earlier, the coverage for live football markets and the actual quality of the in-play tools are excellent too.
Horse racing is a frequent omission on newer and lesser-known betting apps, so it’s pleasing to see that Betreels have already got this in place. You won’t exactly find the widest coverage in the world here, with only racecourses in the USA being represented. That still gives you more than 10 different locations though, totalling a respectable 170+ upcoming betting markets at the time of writing. Longer-term ante post bet types are available, as are both Race Winner and each way wagers.
After football, tennis has the most betting markets on the Betreels mobile site by a wide margin. There were almost 250 coming up, when we wrote this review, and an impressive 30 or so ongoing matches being covered in the live betting section.
For pre-match markets, you can place everything from simple Match Winner wagers to handicap bets, and – in some cases – specials bets. In-play, you’re able to react extremely quickly by betting set-by-set, or even game-by-game, and for the very biggest tournaments – including the four slams – you can also place outright bets on the overall winner.
Backing up the illustrious trio listed above, you’ll find around 30 other sports in place on the Betreels mobile website, representing thousands of individual betting opportunities. Curiously, table tennis had the next-most markets at the time of writing, but the subsections for boxing, cricket, golf, and rugby were all well-populated.
Elsewhere, a full suite of major American leagues is in place, including the MLB and NFL. The basketball area is also busy, and there are a few more niche options to round out the selection nicely, including volleyball, snooker, futsal, and chess. Finally, Betreels have also done a good job of moving with the times by providing a good collection of eSports markets, including Dota 2, LoL, CSGO, and Starcraft 2.
Like any good bookie, Betreels don’t simply stick with their welcome offer. Instead, they supply a steady stream of ongoing promotions, to continually reward users for their custom. Let’s take a look at some of the more intriguing deals which are currently available.
Super Sports Leaderboard
Normally, as a punter, you’re simply competing against yourself as you measure your betting success. With their Super Sports Leaderboard promotion, Betreels pit you against other users instead.
Deposit at least £10 using the code ‘GOTIME’, and you’ll automatically be entered into this contest. Thereafter, you must wager at least £50, on any sports you please. Each month, all eligible players will be evaluated as part of the leaderboard, with the total stakes they have committed within that span being totaled. The top five punters will each win cash prizes, running from £150 for the top dog, down to a respectable £50 for fifth-place.
Score With Football
We’re big fans of ‘cashback’ deals, on any and all mobile betting sites. These might not be as flashy as free bet offers, but still serve a very valuable long-term role.
Betreels’ Score With Football promotion is a very solid effort. You must deposit at least £10, using the code ‘CROSS’, to qualify. After that, if you spend at least £50, 10% of all your football losses will be returned to you. This is a very flexible deal, with punters being eligible for refunds of between £5 and £500 at a time. Better still, those refunds are awarded purely as cash, with no rollover requirements whatsoever attached. Similar deals are also available on tennis, volleyball, and golf.
‘Next Level’ Free Bet Offer
As touched upon in the last section, Betreels do a very good job of providing for eSports bettors. This applies not just to their market selection, but also to a very respectable special offer, with the catchy title of ‘Taking Gaming to the Next Level’.
To qualify here, you must place a deposit of at least £10 using the promo code ‘CHEESE’, then wager £25 or more on eSports. After doing so, a £10 free bet will immediately be unlocked. This can be used on any market, at odds of 1/2 (1.50) or greater. The downside here though, similarly to the welcome offer, is a tricky 10x rollover requirement.
As mentioned previously, the selection of banking options on Betreels is actually surprisingly impressive. You’ve got more than 10 choices here, covering a good range of needs and preferences.
Unsurprisingly, both Visa/Mastercard debit card and bank transfer deposits are facilitated here, with the latter being processed via Trustly. You can also pick between a few different eWallets, including PayPal, Neteller and Skrill – or prepaid cards like Paysafecard. Some punters will also be able to use BitBay Pay to fund their accounts using cryptos, although this is not available in the UK.
The minimum amounts for both deposits and withdrawals are fine here, as are the deposit times. There are a couple of other issues surrounding withdrawals, however.
For starters, all withdrawals are subject to a three-day ‘pending’ period, in addition to their regular processing times, meaning cashing out here is a relatively slow process. Even more annoying, a £2.50 fee is also charged for every single payout – something which, thankfully, most betting apps binned long ago.

As with quite a few other aspects of this betting app, the customer support on Betreels is not exactly spectacular, but it’s certainly respectable. Most importantly of all, getting in touch with the customer service team is extremely easy to do. You simply open up the dropdown menu within your mobile browser, and hit the ‘Support’ button.
You’ll then find two ways in which to get in touch. Of these, live chat is the faster and more convenient option. We sent a test enquiry during our research for this Betreels review, and received a response that was both speedy and helpful. Live chat is also available 24/7, meaning it should never take long to get a problem solved. If your issue isn’t quite so urgent, you can use the second option – email – instead.
Betreels’ indirect support isn’t quite so impressive. There is an FAQ section in place, but there are relatively few articles within it. Those which are in place are helpful enough though, and you can find what you’re looking for easily enough by using the search function.
Whether through nervousness about divulging information to potential hackers, or simply not thinking it’s important, Betreels provide very few details indeed about their security measures. This is actually pretty commonplace among mobile betting sites, but it’s frustrating nonetheless.
We could find no details whatsoever of security in the FAQ section. Even within the terms and conditions, there was only the vague mention of a ‘security system’. In fact, the only place on the whole platform with any real detail is the ‘About Us’ area, which confirms that 128-bit SSL encryption is in place, and that all payments are handled by third-party processors. It is also confirmed within the T&Cs that customer and company funds are held separately, but that’s about it.
Even having said all of that, we don’t believe you need to worry too much about security on Betreels’ app. That’s because this brand holds licenses with both the UK Gambling Commission and the Malta Gaming Authority – two of the most highly-respected regulatory bodies around. Each will have thoroughly analysed Betreels’ measures for player safety, in turn giving you plenty of peace of mind.
Betreels is an extremely young mobile betting site, having been launched as recently as 2020. An online casino has actually been around since 2016, but the sportsbook section is much younger.
Even though this brand is new though, there’s still plenty of experience behind it. This comes courtesy of ProgressPlay – Betreels’ parent company – who have been in business since 2012. A few years ago, having spent plenty of time developing platforms for other outfits, ProgressPlay decided to start creating their own brands instead. Since then, they have been one of the most ambitious betting companies around, launching a whole range of mobile sportsbooks.
Like their parent company ProgressPlay, Betreels are based in Malta. It should also be mentioned that they have a commendable commitment to responsible gambling, which we – naturally – share.
If you’ve ever tried a ProgressPlay app or mobile betting site before, you’ll generally know what to expect from Betreels. If not, you will be in the curious position of being pleasantly surprised by some aspects, and highly frustrated by others.
Let’s get the bad stuff out of the way first. The lack of an actual mobile app – particularly from a parent company as large as ProgressPlay – is surprising. You’ll also miss out on a few premium features which the biggest betting apps will tend to offer, like live streaming. These are minor annoyances, but the pair of issues with withdrawals are more damaging. Betreels are not only slow to deal with your payouts, thanks to the three-day ‘pending’ period, but they also charge you a small fee for the pleasure.
Fortunately, there are a whole lot of positives to balance out this handful of complaints. Even without an actual app, you’ll still find the layout of the mobile betting site to be extremely intuitive. The range of markets – for both pre-match and in-play – is huge, and there’s a decent selection of outright wagers available too. Even with the aforementioned drawbacks in mind, the sheer volume of choices for making payments is also impressive.
Overall, despite its flaws, Betreels still provide you with a smooth, modern mobile betting experience. There’s definitely enough to like about this brand to make it worth signing up, trying to hit your welcome bonus target, and taking things from there.
What is Betreels?
Betreels is a relatively new mobile betting site, which was launched in 2020. Like most ProgressPlay brands, it has plenty of positives, but comes with a few annoyances too.
Are there Betreels apps available?
No – at the time of writing, there are no standalone apps for either iOS or Android devices. This isn’t the worst thing in the world though, as the mobile site is very easy to use, and performed well during our testing.
What sports can I bet on here?
A lot. There are over 30 different sports available to bet on using the Betreels mobile site. Football is the biggest section, as you’d expect, but the likes of horse racing, basketball, tennis, cricket, golf, and more also have plenty of markets available.
Which payment methods can I use?
Again, you’re given plenty of choice here. Debit card and bank transfer are both accepted, as are eWallets such as PayPal, and prepaid cards like Paysafecard. If your account isn’t registered in the UK, you can also pay using cryptos.
Are there any special offers in place?
New customers can take advantage of Betreels’ ‘Bet £10, Get a £10 Free Bet’ welcome offer, although this does come with a tough rollover requirement. You’ll find several useful ongoing promotions after that, including cashback deals, an eSports free bet offer, and a ‘leaderboard’ competition.
