BetNeptune Mobile App Review

The UK has one of the oldest and most vibrant betting sectors in the world, and the UK betting scene features a host of new and innovative sportsbook providers. One of the most recent additions is BetNeptune, a fresh new sportsbook that was launched in 2020 and is operated by well-known sportsbook company Progress Play Limited.

In our comprehensive BetNeptune review, we aim to give you all of the key facts about the BetNeptune app, from a breakdown of its key features, to the quality of its betting markets and promotions. Our aim is to ensure that – by the time you have finished reading this review – you will know all you need to in order to decide whether to download and start betting via the BetNeptune app.

BetNeptune New Sign Up Offer

If you’re familiar with the betting industry, you’ll know that it is standard for new and existing bookmakers to offer betting promotions and deals to attract new players, and BetNeptune do just that. In short, they offer a free bet matching your first bet amount, up to a maximum of £10.

So how good is this welcome offer? On the plus side, it is a simple proposition. Sign up, bet up to £10, and receive a matching free bet. There’s no need to calculate percentages, or wait to see if your bet is a winner or a loser, and the free bets are not split across different deposits, as is sometimes the case.

Those are the positives with the BetNeptune welcome bet offer. There are some negatives, however. For a start, £10 is not a huge amount, and while it may be welcomed by most punters, we’ve seen much bigger offers (up to £50, in some cases) from rival operators.

We were also a little disappointed with the terms and conditions, which are stricter than is usually the case with sportsbooks. There is a wagering requirement of 10x with this welcome bonus, while many sportsbooks choose not to impose any such requirements at all. The maximum winnings you can withdraw, even if you complete the wagering requirement, is only £20, and we feel this could also be higher. Other restrictions include the need to use the free bets in seven days, and bets made with Skrill deposits being ineligible.

Overall, this is a slightly below par welcome bonus offer, both in terms of the amount and some of the conditions. It does have the benefit of simplicity, however, and will likely appeal to some punters.

BetNeptune Mobile App

For most of the 21st century, since smartphones became popular, it has been common for operators to provide a downloadable app for customers. This app could be downloaded from the relevant app store or from the sportsbook site itself, and could be used to make bets, check your balance and fund your account through your mobile device.

Mobile sports betting apps were very popular, as trying to use your mobile to access the regular version of the site was often ineffective as the sites were not mobile compatible.

The rise of HTML5 however, changed the game. These days, sportsbook operators are able to offer mobile-friendly sites that run perfectly through a mobile browser.

As a new sportsbook, BetNeptune has followed this trend. You won’t find any downloadable apps from this brand, but we’re pleased to say that the BetNeptune platform is well adjusted for mobile use. It runs smoothly across all devices and operating systems, and gives you full access to all of the BetNeptune markets and services.

Other BetNeptune Sections

Although it is known mainly as a sports betting site, the BetNeptune platform also offers a casino section for those who want to try their luck with a range of slots and table games.

The BetNeptune casino is divided into sections, so you can choose the type of game that you prefer. You can select from Slots, Live Casino, Table Games, Featured Titles, Jackpot and Casual games. In total, there are more than 1,000 slot games available on the BetNeptune casino section, which makes it one of the largest casino platforms in the UK.

Advantages of the BetNeptune Sportsbook

It can sometimes feel as though many sportsbooks are the same, since they largely follow the same design style and organization. The BetNeptune site doesn’t feel like this though, and actually has quite a lot to recommend it. Here are some of the main benefits that users of the site will notice.

Highly Usable Interface

Different customers want different qualities from the sportsbook sites that they use. Some prefer an ultra streamlined presentation, while others prefer as many features and tools as possible. Satisfying all punters is a tall order, but BetNeptune have come up with an interface that ticks most of the boxes.

The site is well organized, and combines an array of features with a clean, clear look. You can access the sports and events you are looking for down the left hand side of the home page, and there is a large central area that offers an array of in play and upcoming events. You can also switch between the various live sections such as Live Overview, Live Multiview and Live Calendar, as well as the Virtual Sports area.

In general, we found it easy to move between account tools, markets and other features. Overall therefore, when it comes to the site interface, BetNeptune have produced a very user-friendly platform.

Lots of Betting Markets

The UK sports betting scene is full of competition. In order to ensure that they aren’t at a disadvantage, sites such as BetNeptune have to provide access to the widest possible variety of sports markets, and – when it comes to variety and depth – they have done just that.

We counted 42 different sports, along with a variety of eSports, on the BetNeptune sportsbook site, including everything from hurling to water polo. The market depth is also strong, particularly for the major sports. For example, a typical English Premier League game can offer as many as 410 different markets, which is an astonishing variety of betting options.

Whatever your preferred sport and bet type, you will surely be able to find it on the BetNeptune site. The handy, colour-coded sports icons also make it easy to find the sport and market you want.

Good Selection of Payment Options

When you’re betting on sport, you ideally want to be able to use the payment methods that you prefer, both for making deposits and withdrawals. It also helps if delays and fees can be kept to a minimum.

This is sometimes tricky for betting companies to keep up with the ever changing world of e-finance, with so many new ways to make transactions coming online every year, but it is pleasing to see that BetNeptune offer an excellent selection of payment options. You can make BetNeptune deposits and withdrawals using Visa, Mastercard, PayViaPhone, Paypal, Paysafecard, Trustly, EcoPayz, MuchBetter, Euteller, Skrill, Fast Bank Transfer, NetBanking and UPI, although not all of these options will be available in all locations.

Competitive Odds

It is important to try to get the best odds whenever you are betting on sport, and this will mean that most shrewd punters do not stick with one bookmaker, but are prepared to bet wherever the best odds can be found. Still, some sportsbooks are more likely to have competitive odds in more markets than others. In the case of BetNeptune, we found that mostly their odds were in line with the standard for the market, and this is definitely a site to consider when you are shopping around for the best prices.

High Quality Customer Service

No matter how experienced you are in the world of sports betting, there may be times when you need help with an aspect of a betting site or some detail relating to your account. That’s when it is vital to be able to rely on high quality customer support.

The BetNeptune support service is accessible by clicking on the Support option at the top of the home page. This opens up an impressively comprehensive FAQ section, which addresses a wide range of issues and potential queries. If you scroll down to the bottom of the page you will also find the option to contact customer support through email, or via the 24/7 Live Chat interface.

BetNeptune Betting Features

While BetNeptune provide an impressive array of betting markets, modern punters expect more than just this when it comes to using a sportsbook. The best sportsbooks aim to provide as many tools and account features as possible to help punters with their betting, and to encourage them to remain with the site. BetNeptune is certainly following that model with their handy, punter-friendly features.

In-Play Betting

No modern sportsbook site can afford to overlook the huge popularity of in-play betting, and BetNeptune go to some lengths to offer a live betting platform that punters will appreciate. In fact, most of the home page is given over to events that are currently live and those that are about to go live.

Football is the main focus of their live betting platform, which is not surprising, given the enduring popularity of the ‘beautiful game’, but we were still surprised by the sheer number of in play markets. For example, an ordinary Russian Premier League game, played on a late Monday afternoon, offered 175 live betting markets for UK punters, which is seriously impressive.

We also found live markets available on tennis, basketball, futsal, squash, badminton, badminton, cricket, volleyball, table tennis and handball, and this was not a particularly busy time of the week for sport. BetNeptune certainly deserve credit, therefore, for offering so many live betting opportunities.

Cash Out Tool

Another feature that is much in demand in the modern betting industry is the Cash Out tool. This mimics some of the success of the betting exchange model, by giving punters a quick and easy way to cash in their winning bet or cut their losses on a losing bet, before the event itself has ended.

Of course, making Cash Out available is only one part of the equation, and punters will want to know how many markets and events are covered by this feature. We were pleased to find that BetNeptune offers the Cash Out facility on a large proportion of its betting markets. A quick survey of in-play football markets revealed that the Cash Out option was available on around half of the markets for one event.

BetNeptune have also made it easier for punters to identify Cash Out markets thanks to the use of a small green dollar symbol next to the name of the market. This can save a lot of time that might otherwise be spent opening and closing one market after another looking for the Cash Out option.

During our testing, we also found that the BetNeptune Cash Out option functioned smoothly. Also, both the amounts offered as Cash Outs and the availability of this feature are in line with best industry practice.

Live Betting Support

We mentioned above that the BetNeptune Live Betting platform is impressive, and this is partly down to the array of options that appear to have been designed with in play bettors in mind.

Across the top of the central home page display, there are three options in particular that punters will appreciate. The Live Overview tab opens a handy list of all the live betting events and markets. The Live Multiview enables you to drag and drop a number of markets into an empty area, making it possible to view multiple live markets at the same time without having to click between them. This level of customization can save time and therefore money in the fast moving world of live betting.

There is also a Live Calendar option, which gives you a list of upcoming events and markets, including the latest prices, making it easier to plan your live betting schedule, as well as handy live stats and other key information, which can help live punters to fine tune their strategy.

Competitive Leaderboards

One of the most interesting recent innovations in the betting world is the Competitive Leaderboard element, in which punters can win prizes for successful bets.

With BetNeptune, the leaderboard is known as the Super Fan offer. To qualify, you have to make a deposit of a minimum of £10, enter the relevant promo code, as indicated on the site, and then make qualifying bets on any sport. Successful bets will earn you points on the leaderboard and those at the top end of the leaderboard will ultimately be in line for a cash reward.

Bet Builder

For some punters, singles wagers is the only form of sports betting that they need. Many other online sports betting fans, however, enjoy more complicated forms of betting, including multiples.

With a multiples bet, you essentially combine more than one wager into a string of bets. If they are all successful, the winnings can be substantial. This type of betting is particularly popular with punters who like to bet with small stakes, as it can provide a large reward for a small risk.

A key BetNeptune feature that makes it easier to get your multiple bets placed is the handy Bet Builder. If you look at the list of available markets, you will see that many of them have a small green chain symbol above the market name. This means that bets in this market can be combined into multiples, using the Bet Builder tool. This includes a wide range of betting opportunities, including Match Result, Draw No Bet, Correct Score and Half-Time Score, as well as a host of player-related bets.

As you click on your selection in each market, you will see that it appears in the Bet Builder betting slip, and the odds will update each time. When you are ready to make your bet, simply input your stake and click confirm, and your multiple bet will be placed.

BetNeptune Markets

As we mentioned earlier, there is an impressive array of markets available through the BetNeptune site, covering over 40 sports. The market depth is also extremely impressive. Let’s take a closer look at exactly how BetNeptune approach some of the most important sports markets of all.

Football is a huge betting sport, and BetNeptune have gone all in on this sport, offering market coverage for almost any football event you can think of. They cover everything from the top Premier League games to non-league football, and from the World Cup to minor friendly games. We were impressed to find coverage of even the smallest European and South American leagues, along with markets relating to more specialised themes such as the Golden Boot winner.

In terms of market depth, BetNeptune also have excellent coverage, with hundreds of markets on each football match. They offer a huge range of handicap bets, dozens of player betting markets and all of the goals, corners, bookings and goalscorer markets you could ever need. With useful in-game stats also available, the BetNeptune football platform is definitely one of the most complete in the business.

Horse Racing

Horse racing is the original betting sport, and the best sportsbooks – even modern sites like BetNeptune – should not neglect the ‘Sport of Kings’. Unfortunately, the horse racing product on the BetNeptune site is less impressive than we’d hoped to find.

Their coverage of US horse racing is comprehensive. For instance, on a typical midweek day, we found betting markets for each race across 11 meetings throughout the US. There are also ante-post markets on upcoming races for those who like to get their bets down early.

Sadly, there is no coverage of racing from any other country, such as Australia, Hong Kong, the UK, France or Ireland, and this will limit the appeal of the site for horse racing bettors. If US racing is your thing, however, then BetNeptune offer excellent coverage.

The all-year-round nature of tennis makes it an ideal sport for sports punters, and it is increasingly popular around the world. That’s particularly true for live tennis betting markets.

BetNeptune offer good coverage, both for the Slams and the smaller events. You can bet Outright on all the biggest competitions, but you will also find that the individual matches provide plenty of betting options. The live betting coverage is excellent too, including all of the markets that in play tennis players look out for, such as Next Point, Next Game and Next Set.

The sports betting world is growing all the time as bookmakers work hard to provide betting opportunities across an increasingly diverse range of sports, and BetNeptune provide excellent cross-sport coverage.

As already mentioned, there are 41 sports to bet on through the site. As well as the more obvious minor sports such as table tennis, ice hockey and volleyball, they also offer markets on Bandy, Gaelic Football, Hurling, Swimming and many more. And for those who like betting on eSports, there is good coverage of all the main titles including Dota 2, CS:GO and League of Legends.

BetNeptune Ongoing Promotions

Providing a good welcome bonus is important, but we can also judge a sportsbook on how well it looks after regular customers. BetNeptune offers a number of ongoing promotions related to specific sports, with a couple of the more intriguing examples listed below.

Football Money Back

For football betting fans, the Football Money Back promotion is an excellent deal that – in our opinion – outshines the BetNeptune welcome bonus. If you deposit a minimum of £10 and enter the relevant promotion code, you will be refunded 10% of your deposit amount if the bet is a loser, up to a maximum of £500. The refund is in the form of free bets, but there is no wagering requirement to consider in this case.

Fans of other sports are not left out either, as the money back deal is available for nine other sports including basketball, boxing, eSports, and rugby.

Boxing Day Cashback

BetNeptune offer many time-limited promotions, such as this English Premier League themed cashback offer.

Punters who bet on EPL games on December 26 or December 28 can receive 15% cashback on their deposits for all losing bets. To qualify, you simply have to make a deposit during the promotional period and enter the relevant promo code, available through the Promotions section of the site.

BetNeptune Deposit Options and Banking

Fast and convenient deposit and withdrawal systems are an important part of rating any sportsbook site, and we’ve taken a close look at the BetNeptune payment options. In total, there are 17 payment methods listed on the site, although – as some are country specific – it is unlikely that any punter will have access to them all. The minimum deposit amounts vary slightly according to the particular method, but most are either £10 or £20. Only one of the payment options listed has a fee associated with deposit, and that was a 15% processing fee for PayViaPhone transactions.

When it comes to withdrawals, however, the BetNeptune platform looks distinctly less attractive. For a start, there are only eight withdrawal options. Minimum withdrawal fees vary from £10 up to £50, but BetNeptune do also impose a £2.50 processing fee for each customer withdrawal, which we find hard to justify.

We were also disappointed with the relatively slow withdrawal times. All withdrawals are subject to a three day pending period and a one day processing period before the withdrawal even begins. That is in addition to the time taken for your banking provider to process payments. In the case of Skrill and Neteller, for example, this means you could be waiting up to five days for your payment to clear. This is longer than most of their rivals can manage and is clearly something that BetNeptune and ProgressPlay need to address, as it is likely to lead to considerable frustration.

Customer Support

We touched on the BetNeptune customer support in an earlier section. It is worth examining in a little more detail though, as we were impressed with the level of support offered.

Clicking on the white Support option at the top of the home page initially opens the FAQ section, which is one of the best we have come across. There are seven sections, covering questions relating to Bonuses, Payments, Verification, Games, Technical, Account Issues and Responsible Gambling. The most asked questions are summarised just below, and there is a handy search bar at the top of the section.

If you prefer to interact with one of the customer support team, you can also choose this option by clicking on the green Chat With Us or Send An Email options at the bottom of the page. The chat service opens up a simple messaging box and is available on a 24/7 basis, as is the email customer support platform. Email replies may take a little longer to receive, but this is a useful option if your query is complicated or involves uploading documents.

The only thing missing is a telephone contact option, which some customers prefer. Overall though, the BetNeptune customer support section is a good example of how modern companies can provide a complete service with a little care and attention to detail.

Security and Safety

When it comes to security and safety, the best reassurance for customers is provided by the fact that BetNeptune holds UKGC and MGA licenses. Both of these betting jurisdictions are known for their stringent rules across the board, including on data protection, customer safety, anti-money laundering, identity verification, fairness and encryption.

It is also good to see that BetNeptune are happy to display their security and fairness credentials. The site is backed by PCI, a security standards organisation, and its security has been certified by Sectigo. BetNeptune uses 128 bit SSL encryption technology, along with extensive firewall technology to protect personal and financial information, and they also offer a range of self-help tools and advice – for those at risk of problem gambling – in the Responsible Gambling section.

About BetNeptune

Set up in 2020, BetNeptune is a very new brand indeed in the online sports betting world. Based in Malta, the site is operated by Progress Play, which is one of the rising stars of the betting world.

In fact, Progress Play have notably expanded into the UK betting industry in recent years, launching a number of modern, all-round betting platforms that offer sports betting and casino services. Set up in 2012, Progress Play have provided white label betting platforms for a number of sportsbook and casino operators, and they hold licenses in the UK, Malta, and Ireland.

Final Thoughts

It can be tough for new online sports betting sites to stand out, but the BetNeptune site has made a strong start. The core of the BetNeptune product – the sports markets themselves – are excellent, providing a range of sports, events and markets that can rival any of the long established European brands, and all presented in a style that feels intuitive and welcoming.

There are certainly some minor issues with the BetNeptune mobile site, which shouldn’t be overlooked. The withdrawal times and the associated fee are both irritating, and the welcome bonus could be improved. It is also surprising to find no UK or Ireland horse racing betting markets.

Overall, however, the BetNeptune mobile platform provides a solid all-round betting portal that has almost everything a sports betting fan could need, including excellent licensing credentials, strong customer support and ongoing promotions. Ultimately, this is a new betting site that is definitely worth checking out.
